^ yeah I think it’s the whole “oh how tragic that they must put duty before love” type of thing. Our culture paints knights and princesses in such a romantic light that I guess it just sticks with us for a long time. Courtly romance was nothing like the kind of romance we paint with these fictional characters though because a lot of times nothing came of it (the rules of the game u mentioned). I’ll probably always be a sucker for the lord/vassal trope tho LOL I just find it romantic KAJSJDKFKKFK

Probably but I think there’s a way to do that…better? Because in other medias I don’t mind as much, and actually my novel Dragon’s Daughter is also a knight/princess trope (twice over really, one relationship failed due to unequal footing and the second one succeeding because they do treat each other as equals).

I guess equality is something that’s important to me!

But yeah I think people don’t understand what Courtly Romance actually was and so it gets treated like this instead and it really just depends on the writer and how they treat it whether I think it’s acceptable or not ahahaha…

Anyway one of the reasons I love FE is that there’s something in it for everyone, though by that same reasoning every game also has things that people won’t like as well. It’s just the way it goes!
