Warriors Update: GOT LYN

god she’s fast

she’s so fast

her fighting style is very quick, so sometimes it’s actually hard to make sure I’m aiming in the right direction but that doesn’t matter I’m still going to play every level as her

goals

also they redid her intro conversation with Eliwood and Hector but using Marth and Chrom and I died a little

Warriors update: still no Lyn

Trying to bring the rest of my party up to at least level 45 to attempt that level again (Lianna and Sheeda are both almost at 60 so they’re gtg lol)

lots of peg units in that one so I reclassed Sakura and Takumi. Lissa is already pretty high but since she’ll have to do a lot of brute force work I want to make sure she’s around 50 maybe.

hopefully I’ll be able to try again tonight!

also speaking of highly unbalanced Warriors levels….the levels you have to go through to unlock Lyn are fucking ridiculous.

Literally one of them was like, level 28 or 29 or something. My characters were all between 45-55 and I almost didn’t manage to beat it.

Now that’s just bad level design.

Nice of you to throw us older fans a bone but how about not wrapping it in barbed wire first jesus christ

viktimmy replied to your post “my main goal with Warriors is unlocking Lyn and playing every single…”

You can in fact switch which twin uses which sword, though the optimize feature defaults it to the one they pull in the cutscene if they are the best weapon available. it won’t stop you from manually giving Rowan the pink one and vice-versa. Also, the begging choice does restrict which twin you can use until the split after chapter 5, at which point you unlock the other twin

That part I knew! I immediately gave Lianna the blue sword to be petty.

Hm…I guess I didn’t pay attention because I had no interest in using Rowan. I would have liked it if it affected the story more.

oh also I saw a little bit of like “I hope they don’t add the Warriors characters to Heroes” the other day and honestly???

I like the Warriors characters! I think Lianna is so sweet and responsible, and Rowan is so dorky and heartfelt and Darios is…well….I like him a lot actually ahaha

I love them all. Also there’s only 3 of them so like….hell yeah! Add these kiddos to Heroes I would love a chance to kick more ass with Lianna.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind so much, even if I feel that their base concepts come across as weaker versions of Ephraim and Eirika, as well as Alfonse and Sharena.

As I’ve learned more about the game, I’ve grown to appreciate Rowan a bit more than I had initially, but at the same time I’ve liked Lianna less. And that really just comes down to the “I don’t want to be Queen/King” conflict between the two.

I just feel like Rowan offers more concrete reasons as to why he does not want to rule, and has a plan for what he would do for his people instead. Lianna has reasons I can sympathize with, but to my knowledge has no plans for what she will do if she does not have to take up the crown.

As I’ve said though, I wouldn’t mind them coming to the game. Except for the utter hell that would be trying to get a specific one when they all wield swords. Koei really screwed the pooch with that decision.

Yeahhhhhhhh they should have been an axe (Lianna) and lance (Rowan) unit imo but I’ve talked about that before!

I think the central conflict is dumb. Rowan wants to be a knight and he’s also hyper and excitable and a little dumb by all means let him be a knight!! He would be great!

But Lianna who is studious and responsible would be a good queen and I think she should be (personally based on the ending I think she does decide to take the throne). I was also irked by her not wanting it but not offering any actual reason.

It has weak execution storywise and that’s a much more valid complaint than what I saw before which boiled down to “I don’t want them in the game because they’re not real Fire Emblem Characters™”.

Lianna with the axe? Haven’t heard that before. Would’ve been pretty interesting.

And to be fair to Lianna, she has understandable reasons for why she does not want the role. When you are responsible for the lives of an entire kingdom, not feeling up to par to such a position is very daunting. My issue lies with her having no alternative to becoming Queen despite that. It makes her come across as lazier than she honestly should seem.

As for the “Not Real Fire Emblem” characters thing, I can kind of understand it, but I don’t feel like it applies as much in their case. They would fit in just fine. I would agree with the argument in the case of adding the characters from Illusory Revelations (I think that is what it was called), though that is more due to them just seeming out of place given the concepts about them.

In the end, we’ll have to wait and see what IS does. I doubt that the Aytolis duo or Darios will come to Heroes, as the prime opportunity for their release has long passed, but I would not mind if they did decide to add them in.

I just thought it would be fun to have a female axe lord honestly

also is that what she says? It’s only been like two weeks but I’ve already forgotten the specifics (maybe because it doesn’t get brought up again and again like Rowan’s knight deal). Not sure if that’s because she’s more reserved as a person or if they just made Rowan naturally more important (boo)

Yeah I don’t think they would get added in honestly but it wouldn’t bother me if they did. For now I’ll just hope for some Warriors DLC I actually want ahaha

my main goal with Warriors is unlocking Lyn and playing every single available level as her BUT

supposedly it lets you select which twin to play as and I picked Lianna b/c of course I did and yet

what is the actual difference? is there a difference? it seemed like Rowan was still taking the lead in all the conversations and everything.

since you can switch up characters at will it’s not like picking one over the other trapped you into only playing as that character

that and the gender-conforming sword thing baffles me more than anything else about Warriors so far
