For her introduction, she’s in a prison cell (fine) but she’s literally kneeling in a T&A pose. A) that’s not how people tend to chill. B) she’s talking to someone who is a fellow knight (as far as she knows, one of her closest comrades), with whom she presumably shared a mutual respect. That is not how you greet an equal you think has come to rescue you.

Her being caged, submissive, and sexualized while Fernand is lording it over her really seems like some dumb fantasy of his and not reality. There was literally no legitimate reason to treat someone as vivacious, strong, and confident as Mathilda in that way, so it strikes me as a really bad choice.

In the rest of the game she’s flawless and I love her sooo much and would probably die for her. I think they did a good job with this awesome lady knight but her introduction was handled so poorly by comparison it makes me angry.

As for her ending…I feel like her and Clive’s endings should be switched, it would be much more in line with their personalities!

okay one last thing but you can’t use Priam to discount Ike’s sexuality because Priam is from Awakening which, while fun, is both: objectively bad and also not connected to Tellius in any real way and is therefore inadmissible in court.

If people accept the Raven/Lucius end support as Canon™ which most of the fandom does then you also have to accept Ike/Soren or Ike/Ranulf as canon too since they’re basically the same.

But I almost never see people trying to claim that Raven/Lucius aren’t “canon” despite the fact that it’s not explicitly stated.
