Inktober 6,7,8: Redwall serpents.
I was in a snake mood 😛

The upper one is Sicariss the smooth snake, one half of the reptile-corvid duo leading the Doomwhytes and the one who’s actually pulling the strings.

Second is Baliss the Slayer, a blind adder said to be descended from Asmodeus himself. He’s initally hired by the Doomwhyte leader to spread terror among Mossflower’s inhabitants, which goes sour when Baliss headbutts a hedgehog and is driven mad by the pain from the festering wounds the spikes cause.

The last are the adder triplets Zassaliss, Harssacss and Sesstra who got stuck together as babies before the events of Triss, when King Sarengo’s mace and chain wrapped around their tails. However, they learned to hunt as a unit and their combined strength and speed make them one of the deadliest adversaries the Redwallers face.

I did it! I’ve caught up with Inktober! Anyone remember the Redwall series? That was the shit. I still have all the books. I’ve drawn Redwall stuff before but I def think I improved since last time. I’d really like to draw more from this series…

The best translation difference I’ve found so far between English and Italian Martin the Warrior:

In English Badrang is called “battle-hardened”

In Italian, the same line says “tempered by a thousand battles” which is much cooler and also more menacing.
