Both of my stuffed gryphons are named (badly) after characters from The Griffin Mage trilogy but if I ever got a black gryphon, would I name it Skandranon or Karaithin?
One would say Skandranon because Rachel Neumeier is a newcomer in this house and Mercedes Lackey is long-standing but Karaithin is also a super interesting character.
(Opal is named after Opailikiita and Tescatine being badly named after the gryphon king’s…ally? brother? life partner? (gryphon sexuality is weird) who is like my favorite gryph in the series but whose name I can never actually remember)
