Help I love these two losers so much

With most FE games I play non-stop because they’re fun.

Awakening I played non-stop because, terrible as it is, it still has a very addicting, soap opera-ish quality to it (that I still eat up, honestly)

But Fates feels more like Shadow Dragon to me. I’m not playing because it’s fun, or because I want to. I’m not playing because the story is engaging or the world is interesting or because I like the characters. I’m playing because I feel like I have to. It’s Fire Emblem, I spent money on it, and by god I’m going to play it.

In general I think the levels are pretty fun (I’m playing Conquest). They’re definitely more inventive and need more thought than what Awakening gave us but that is

I don’t really like the characters, I don’t even care about my own avatar (and that’s just shitty writing when they can’t make you care about your own character). I don’t really care about the plot at all. The support conversations are no better than they were in Awakening and there’s a lot of little mechanics things I don’t like.

Also I HATE HATE HATE the character design. Again.

All I wanted was for it to be better than Awakening. And while it might be technically better, I don’t even like it as much. So, Fates has been very disappointing for me over all.

I told @hakbot I was twitchy without a story to work on and he told me to go through Silverwood and pick everyone’s Fire Emblem classes so HERE YOU GO:

So anyway I wanted to put up a list of my Fire Emblem ships, just in case anyone was curious or wanted to talk to me about FE or something idk. Ah, the big reveal! Finished in time for Fire Emblem’s 25th anniversary (yay!), the long-awaited final version of my Awakening cross stitch piece!

I did my best with the photos, but I’m not very good with cameras, so, I apologize. I also included the image of the pattern I made, and was working off of. Obviously the colors are a bit different (you can never perfectly match them, more’s the pity) but I still think it turned out really well!

The finished piece is about 11″ tall by 9.5″ wide, and used 62 different straight colors plus 22 color combinations. I don’t know exactly but I think it took me around 8 months from start to completion.

I hope you guys enjoy it! I worked really hard and I’m really proud of the final result. Happy Anniversary!
