can we talk that in Heroes ,Hector and Lyn come from the Blazing Blade timeline, but Eliwood and Roy come from the Binding Blade timeline? Imagine Hector and Lyn mistaking Roy for Eliwood. Imagine the 30 or so Eliwood showed up and asked Hector in return “where’s your daughter” and Hector was like “I have a daughter already” ? and similar shits. XD And Chrom was like “i know that feel dude” XD

We’re about 2/3rds through Blazing Sword so we can start planning what to do next. Here’s your beginner’s guide to the other options available.

Let me know what sounds interesting?

Binding Blade (FE6): This happens after Blazing Sword, but was made first. About Eliwood’s son Roy and Hector’s daughter Lilina. I’ve never played it but apparently there’s some plot holes and timeline issues (LIKE LYN DOESN’T EXIST???), but I’m not really sure how big they are. You guys will get to see how incompetent I am the first time around.

image

Sacred Stones (FE8): Unconnected to anything else, twin protagonists Eirika and Ephraim, who are great, and the villain is also A+. A slightly different system than the others, mostly fighting zombies and monsters and shit. I’ve played it before but I hardly remember it.

image

Path of Radiance (FE9): You know about Ike from Smash Bros. probably? This is Ike’s game. Pretty different to a lot of other Fire Emblem games but at the same time has absolutely the best writing and some of the best characters in the series. Everyone loves this game basically, and for good reason.

image

Radiant Dawn (FE10): ABSOLUTELY A+. Takes place 3 years after the events of Path of Radiance and actions…have consequences???? They fucked up the support system but other than that this game is great. Radiant Dawn is one of the harder FE games so expect some tears and a lot of screaming. I’ve already beaten it once so we can unlock the secret gay ending, but I would personally recommend waiting for these two.

Shadow Dragon (FE11): You wanna know about Marth? This is where we learn about Marth. A remake of the very first Fire Emblem game. Shadow Dragon is…not great. Mostly only worth it for Marth and Sheeda trashing battlefields together and a little bit of nostalgia factor. A challenging game but kind of…bland might be the best way to put it.

New Mystery of the Emblem (FE12): A remake of FE3, and the sequel to Shadow Dragon. I’ve only played it about halfway through but it seems challenging and maybe decent? Again, Marth and Sheeda are there so that’s cool.

Awakening (FE13): It’s for the 3DS so I’m not sure how to share it but I’d love to find out? Fire Emblem re-imagined as an anime dating-game soap opera. Not…good necessarily but honestly pretty enjoyable (I’ve only played it like…five times since it came out in 2013 if that tells you anything). Takes place 1,000 years after Shadow Dragon.
