The day has arrived! I finally, finally finished this beast of a cross stitch!

Obviously my take on the tapestry of Martin the Warrior from the much beloved Redwall series!

It’s 13 inches long and 11.5 inches tall and has over 50,000 stitches (on 18 count Aida). It has somewhere around 52 colors in it and took me almost two years to finish because I’m terrible.

Anyway, I hope you guys like it! (and sorry about the bad picture quality we don’t have good light today)

So here’s someone I haven’t drawn before – Tiamat!

Long story short: All of my worlds exist in the same universe and there are a set of gods and demons for the universe as well as for each individual world. Tiamat is basically the devil. She’s powerful, she’s evil, and if something is going terribly wrong she’s probably behind it. Also she invented blood magic.

She’s the nemesis of Maleh (whose silver blood is on the sword). However he isn’t able to defeat her in the end, that falls to Arvid (and Klaus and Valkan too I GUESS).

Tiamat is pretty fun. And she’s the daughter of a goddess so she gets that whole divinity thing going on too. She has a bunch of kids, the worst of which is the demon Kojandariel who also makes Maleh’s life a living hell for several centuries before Izare comes along and kills him.

Ladies in armor more like yes please.

In addition to being the goddess of Death, Tanwen is also the general for the underworld’s army. Basically the question is what does Kynan even do with his life because Tanwen does every single important thing that needs doing (and remember that this is a woman who manages to lock herself out of her room at least once a week so that’s a little terrifying).

I guess I kind of ran out of steam on the whole femslash february thing. I still have a few pictures to post but no more drabbles written to go with them. Oh well.

Aine, the knight, and Deirdre, the witch, from my novel The Heart of the Sword. They’re pretty cute. A good couple for Valentine’s Day.

In the drabble I was going to write they were talking about how Aine was going off to battle Caliburn with Bryony, not because Bryony wanted her there but because Aine’s younger sister Saoirse is super gay for Bryony and would almost certainly be there getting into trouble. Deirdre was worried and gave Aine a good luck kiss.

Aubrielle laughed. It went on and on, as if she couldn’t manage to stop herself. Taylin could only watch silently, until Aubrielle could regain control of herself. It happened sooner than Taylin would have thought, but somehow still not soon enough. She didn’t think she’d ever be able to get that laugh out of her head again. Aubrielle tossed the knife back towards the body of the raider it belonged to and whirled around to face her.

“All these years…all these years I’ve been so afraid, afraid of everything! They made sure that I was. But if I had known that accepting Tiamat’s pact would have been like this, I would have done it so much sooner. I wouldn’t have had to suffer like I did.”

Taylin couldn’t bring herself to say anything at all. She had always thought that the stories Aubrielle told about her family legacy were just that, stories. But the proof of demon blood was right in front of her. Aubrielle already looked different, less human, than she had five minutes ago. What had happened to the Aubrielle she knew? Poor shy, sweet Aubrielle who wouldn’t have hurt a fly? Where did that girl go when Tiamat took over? So she said nothing. Not that Aubrielle gave her much of a chance to speak.

“Surely you see now that I don’t have to be afraid any more, nothing can hurt me now. Or you, or anyone I care about. As long as you stay with me, I can protect you. No…I will protect you. Always.” Aubrielle held out her hand. Taylin felt as if she were making a fatally bad decision, but she didn’t seem to be able to stop herself. She took the hand that was offered to her, and used it to pull herself to her feet. Then she looked at Aubrielle, taking in everything that was different…and everything that was still the same.

“Till death do us part.” She said.
