I think one of the issues these books have is that no one is willing to kill other than the nameless prince, and only in book one. He straight up flung Calengol out of a window into a ravine! He very nearly succeeded in killing Gunnar! Where was that ferocity later? Sure I love him as a skeevy bisexual menace, but I also liked him as a ruthless antagonist as well.

I’m not saying that every kids’ book has to be like Redwall where characters die. You can get through something and not have anyone die. But the way this is set up, I think the witches are weaker than they could be because Tea doesn’t want to allow anyone to even want to kill.

Sure they say things, but then they do these very basic attacks that, let’s be real, aren’t really going to accomplish much but base destruction.

You want to end the royal family so bad? Fucking up your game and try to kill them.

If you want the “wise king’s” mercy to stand out, you have to show that his enemies are worse than he is.

okay

A) when could Nives have gotten cursed

B) why is Nives always the one getting cursed

If you absolutely must make someone your damsel in distress why don’t you use Diamante who contributes literally nothing by being there rather than Nives who does so much interesting shit.

You already froze her in a magical block of ice for three books Tea, isn’t that enough for you????
