That is a series I need to finish. I died reading the first book and I started the second but got distracted getting divorced. I swear I saw an edition out of all three?

God the first book just DESTROYS doesn’t it??? Ugh. I love it. The second and third books don’t really get any happier…maybe for a few moments here and there but it’s always so tenuous with him lol.

When you meet him in the Mage Winds trilogy (I think this is the one I’m not quite sure) he’s a lot more chill which is nice though.

I’m not sure but it sounds probable? I have them all separately so I haven’t looked into the way they’re being sold now.

I still cry buckets every time I read The Last Herald Mage trilogy because literally the way Vanyel thinks is the way I thought when I was depressed and it’s extremely emotional for me to see and re-experience it as those books make me do.

But at the same time I think it’s a good thing to remain connected to that part of my past and to remain aware of the places that I go so if I do find myself in actual danger of a relapse I can get help.
