going through some of my old stuff trying to remember things about Lucien:
His mom was a witch who banged her demon familiar/partner so he had demon blood which meant that he’s really good at magic but also had some issues with bullying because he isn’t a pure-blood mage. Or you know, being allowed to even attend schools in certain places.
His mom is not a very good witch and is constantly in debt for gambling (and cheating at gambling) so they move around all the time to avoid people and he went through periods of “being able to attend school” and “being home-schooled with whatever random shit his mom can remember if she even remembers to do it”. His education is a little weird. He knows a lot of magic and history, not really a lot of practical things.
Demons and creatures of demonic origin are drawn to him so he’s good at working as a human-demon ambassador basically. He sort-of dated a demon prince for a while but it didn’t really work out.
And that’s about as much as I ever got for him I think.
It’s cool haha Cou was created for a Nobody OC club that didn’t super go anywhere either so he’s basically a blank slate apart from some traits and appearance/personality
For some reason I’m raring to throw spaghetti at this wall so uh let’s see—
Cou’s got tons of practical knowledge (about rural survival, at least) so that works out if Lucien like, needed to travel without getting lost or hurt, haha. He doesn’t know very much about the wider world but he’s pretty curious and eager to learn as long as it doesn’t jump too quickly into abstract theories he doesn’t have a proper foundation for, haha
He’s gotta be from a swampy/everglades type place in whatever world they’re in. Maybe the small community he’s from has unusual customs, or is skeptical about demons/magic in general, for The Dramas?
In KH , Cou’s nobody powers were based around his synesthesia and the manipulation of senses. He could kind of muddle them up for people or hitch a ride on the senses of people/animals who were within a certain range… useful for scouting and spying more than fighting.
Idk if Lucien’s world has such a thing as like, unstructured/wild/‘raw’ magic outside the confines of a contract with demon familiars but it could be kinda nifty if he uses something like that? Like a way of interacting with magic that’s not what Lucien learned academics say it SHOULD be?
Oh, and his given names Michel, haha. Cousteaux was just his nobody name but obviously I was deliberately trying to make it function like an franch last name (he was from princess and the frog :’) )
awwww XD
that doesn’t sound like a you character at all XD
I didn’t end up developing the world very much (obv) but I think there were different types of magic or at least different ways to use it but all of them were like, definitely academic and highly ritual in nature. So there could definitely be a divide between “here’s how people say to use magic” and “but you can also do this and it works just as well”.
I think because Lucien can use magic like a demon too he must have some instinctive grasp on it, but it would have been really forced out of him by the school system so even if he could do it, I’m not sure he can anymore. But yeah different culture/magic styles always work For Drama.
